First Day of School

Today was my first day of school. Since we live close to Harven, we went to school with Harven and Jack in his car. When we got there, they had an opening ceremony for us with all the people who were involved in the Chinese exchange program, including the chinese exchange students from two years ago. They had performances from some of the students who did traditional dances and song, and lots of people played chinese instruments, which was splendid. Then we got our uniforms. We have a white shirt with black pants. I'll put a picture up eventually. Then we got a tour of the middle school and the high school which was 20 minutes away. It was exciting to see the high school because that's where Lisa is going to now. We saw the student dorms and they're so different. The beds are boards of wood covered with a blanket, they looked very uncomfortable.
We then had lunch at the cafeteria and had rice with tofu and potatoes and some other things that i don't know what they are.
Then we went on a trip to see the tombs of the emperors of the han dynasty. It was an interesting museum .I'll put pictures up later but they had ditches with burial things and all these warriors that were lsimilar to the terra cotta warriors only smaller and from different dynasties. We spent about three hours there and then we came back to the middle school. Im currently waiting for school to be over which wil happen in about 15 minutes at 6. I'm really tired now, but today was a fun experience.

Hi Julia! I'm glad you're back in school and can finally learn some Chinese academic discipline! Oh, and that's a nice idea with the hard wooden bed... if you like, I can rearrange your room and replace the mattress with a wooden board to make it more comfortable for you... sound good?
